Rissoella fallax Ponder & Yoo, 1977 Description: Shell minute, globose, spire about ⅔ of aperture height. Protoconch of 1⅓ whorls, coiled about same axis as teleoconch.. Teleoconch up to 2⅔ whorls; whorls strongly convex, smooth apart from indistinct growth lines. Aperture wide, outer lip thin and simple, inner lip reflected towards umbilicus. Umbilicus narrowly open. Shell initially colourless transparent, becoming opaque white with age. Size: Up to 1.7 mm in length. Distribution: Endemic to Australia. Known from central NSW southwards to Tasmania and central Victoria. Habitat: Lives on algae in the lower littoral and sublittoral. Uncommon. Comparison: See R. secunda.
