Fluctiger royanus Iredale, 1924 Description: Shape suborbicular to subtriangular, slightly longer than high, umbo situated anteriorly to midline. Anterior dorsal margin slightly concave, posterior dorsal margin slightly convex, ventral margin smoothly rounded. Lunule well-defined, escutcheon absent. Exterior with 2 sets of strong, rounded ribs, meeting on midline, on which are superimposed much finer and denser commarginal threads. Interior with muscle scars well defined, pallial line continuous, margin very finely denticulate. Hinge strong, crassatellid in form. Ligament internal, below umbo. Shell colour fawn or white, with 3 broken rays of dark brown in the only fresh specimen available. Size: Up to 10.5 mm in length. Distribution: Port Macquarie, NSW, southwards to Green Cape, southern NSW, this range being established from the 3 lots held by the Australian Museum. Habitat: Known from 47-109 m depth.
