Benthoxystus columnarius (Hedley & May, 1908)

Description: Shell with axial sculpture of frilled varices, 8 or 9 on the body whorl; spiral sculpture of widely spaced foliaceous ribs, separated by interspaces of twice rib width, 2 to 4 on penultimate whorl, and about 10 on the body whorl and anterior canal. Outer lip thin, crenulated by external sculpture, with five lirations internally. Anterior canal as long as aperture, widely open.

Size: Up to 18 mm in length.

Distribution: Endemic to Australia; Sydney,
