A molecular phylogeny of the Cephalaspidae (Malaquias, 2009) found that the Retusidae was polyphyletic, and consequently the family Rhizoridae, which had been erected by Dell in 1952, was reinstated for Rhizorus and Volvulella. The genus Volvulella contains about 35 small, elongate, bubble shells, of which 2 are found in NSW. Family Reference There is no reference to the family. Coverage All species of the family known from NSW are detailed here. Identification Notes These are small, elongate bubble shells extended at both ends.
