Turbonilla gravis (Laseron, 1951)

Description: Shell large for genus, elongate and moderately wide, spire weakly convex in outline. Protoconch unknown (broken on all available specimens). Teleoconch whorls sculptured with about 18 strong axial folds, on last whorl terminating level with top of aperture; no spiral sculpture. Aperture of length greater than width, columella without plaits. Shell opaque white.

Size: Up to 14 mm in length.

Distribution: Endemic to Australia: Sydney, NSW, southwards to Gabo Island, Vic.

Habitat: Known from beach washu,p and subtidal to 21 m. Rare. (Australian Museum holds only 6 lots).
