All the NSW species of the family are shown on the plate, with the exception of the following which have a tropical distribution and occur rarely in northern NSW:

  • Imbricaria conularis (Lamarck, 1811). Indo-West Pacific, to Woolgoolga, NSW

  • Imbricaria punctata (Swainson, 1821). Indo-West Pacific, to Hastings Point, NSW.

  • Mitra amaura Hervier, 1897. Indo-West Pacific, to Minnie Waters, NSW

  • Mitra aurantia (Gmelin, 1791). Indo-West Pacific, to Woolgoolga, NSW

  • Mitra coronata Lamarck, 1811. Indo-West Pacific, to Solitary Islands, NSW

  • Mitra fastigium Reeve, 1845. Indo-West Pacific, to Wooli, NSW

  • Mitra ferruginea Lamarck, 1811. Indo-West Pacific. Known from NSW from only one specimen dredged from Sydney Harbour, probably subfossil. This was named Chrysame lemma Iredale, 1919.

  • Mitra litterata Lamarck, 1811. Indo-West Pacific, to Woolgoolga, NSW

  • Mitra lugubris Swainson, 1821. Indo-West Pacific, to Solitary Islands, NSW

  • Mitra scutulata (Gmelin, 1791). Indo-West Pacific, to Hastings Pouint, NSW.

  • Mitra telescopium Reeve, 1844. Indo-West Pacific, to Solitary Islands, NSW

  • Mitra ticaonica Reeve, 1844. Indo-West pacific, to Hastings Point, NSW

  • Mitra variabilis Reeve, 1844. Northern Australia, to Ballina, NSW

  • Pterygia crenulata (Gmelin, 1791). Indo-West Pacific, to Solitary Islands, NSW

  • Scabricola eximia (A.Adams, 1853). Indo-West Pacific, to Woolgoolga, NSW
