Polinices putealis Garrard, 1961

Description: Shell very glossy, pure white. Umbilicus wide, extending through to spire of shell. Callus narrow with small lobe extending across the umbilicus. Operculum corneous.

Size: Up to 24 mm high, 23 mm wide.

Distribution: Endemic to Australia; reported from Cairns, Qld, to Jervis Bay, NSW.

Habitat: Trawled in 100-350 m. Rare.

Comparison: The glossy, pure white shell and deep umbilicus distinguish this from other NSW species.
