Dolicholatirus thesaurus (Garrard, 1963)

Description: Shell elongate, whorls rounded, aperture almost half total length of shell. Protoconch one whorl, smooth. Whorls sculptured with strong axial folds, 8-10 on the penultimate whorl, crossed by raised spiral ribs, 9-10 per whorl. Outer lip slightly reflected, with slight indentations due to external sculpture, and about 8 inconspicuous lirae extending deep into aperture.. Columella smooth. Anterior canal very long; posterior canal bordered with bulge on parietal wall. Colour uniform light brown, spiral ribs white, anterior end darker brown, aperture fawn.

Size: Holotype length 42 mm.

Distribution: Endemic to Australia; Cape Moreton, Qld, to Sydney.

Habitat: The holotype was taken in 40 fathoms off Port Hacking, and other specimens in 115-124 m off Cape Moreton. Rare.
