Anabathron luteofuscus (May, 1920) Description: Shell minute, solid, spire convex in outline. Protoconch paucispiral, rounded, punctate, with strong varix forming distinct junction with teleoconch. Teleoconch whorls rounded, with fine spiral threads immediately below suture, most prominent on last whorl, and on the base of last whorl; axial sculpture absent. Aperture ovate, with no anterior or posterior canals. Inner lip of aperture separated from previous whorl by distinct channel. Outer lip expanded but without varix externally, thickened but smooth internally. Umbilicus closed. Colour white or red-brown, often with early whorls red-brown and last half-whorl white. Size: Up to 1.2 mm in length. Distribution: Endemic to Australia: Pittwater, Sydney, NSW, southwards to Victoria and Tasmania. Habitat: Empty shells are uncommon in beach washup and down to 58 m. Living specimens are known from algae and rock washings, from low intertidal down to at least 15 m. Comparison: In shell form, this species is quite similar to Amphithalamus jacksoni, but is smaller.
